Green Day poster

The album artwork is centred  on the poster, it is the first thing
someone well see, just above is the artist name ‘Green Day’. Having
the artist name at the very top of the page could have been done to
show the importance compared to other information that might be on the
poster.

The artist name and album title all carry the same colour scheme as
the album artwork, which means it blends into the advert. The advert
also gives details about how the album is being released to the public
in large font in white which forces it to stand out from the darker
back ground.

The album uses large amounts of persuasive langue to sell the album.
For example “The wait is finally over…” this might have been used to
draw the audience in. The poster also includes the singles that the
band released from the album, this means people are more likely to want to buy the album as they might be fans of the single. The poster
also gives information about social media and other online features
such as purchases and News. One similarity between albums of the rock
genre is the use of white lettering font. This makes it standout to
the potentially market.

The punk rock genre when being marketed tend to show the same set of styles. They use the messy, street art "I don't care' look. If a new artist were to use the same styles it would automatically appeal to punk rocks current audience as its a familiar look that they are comfortable with.

The poster has a very 'Banksy' look to them which also suggests further that the album is about the fall of modern day society as a lot of Banksy's art depicts that message.
Red and Orange graffiti spray colour theme further suggests that this is a punk rock album as they are stereotypical colours of punk rock music.

My Digipak and poster will follow the same style of the stereotypical punk rock look.
It will Include black and reds and contain elements of graffiti.

Kings of Leon Poster

The title of the album which is on the front of the poster is
advertising Kings Of Leon’s album ‘only by the night’ is a light lime
green, the poster carries a theme with green using a almost camouflage
effect. The use of the greens could also be used to create an illusion
of night vision goggles, this would link in to the albums title.
The album shows a mixture of the bands faces alongside an owls face.
The owl is often associated with the night and this is perhaps why the
owl has been included in the advert as the album name is ‘only by the
night’.
The bottom of the advert states some of the songs that listeners can
expect to hear on the new album. The songs that are listed have been
chosen as these songs are the most popular singles of the band and
this will attract people who are not so familiar with some of their
not so popular songs to possibly buy the album as they may like their
hit singles. The poster has a very dark and mysterious feel to it
which could have been used to create the stereotypical image the band
may have.

Planning

F

Clothing - I decided to put Abbie in this style of clothing to show the characteristics of  an average teenage girl. Abbie is wearing a black leather jacket, skinny jeans a ripped jumper with the words 'Drop Dead' and black shoes. She has eyeliner on and her hair is down and 'scruffy'. People may consider her to be 'different'. She represents the minority of teenagers, rock, alternative style. I decided to dress hr this way as i wanted her to connect well with the audience by her appearance alone.
